About seven months ago, I was seriously considering leaving my job of eight years.
At the time, everything felt like it was falling apart. I was still grieving the loss of my darling, who had passed away two and a half years ago. I felt emotionally drained, unhappy, and my health was beginning to suffer.
For months, I had been dealing with ongoing challenges involving my boss and a colleague, and deep down, I knew something had to change.
I had always believed that when things go wrong in life, it’s important to pause—and not resist. In that moment, I realised I needed to do exactly that: pause, be quiet, listen, and focus on my inner healing.
So, I took a six-month sabbatical and travelled to India and Australia to spend time with family. That time away became one of the most meaningful periods of my life.
I continued my routine of yoga and meditation, became more mindful of my thoughts, went for regular walks, and listened to uplifting podcasts — including teachings on Kabbalah by David Ghiyam.
Slowly, something began to shift.
I started enjoying my own company. I felt lighter, calmer, and less affected by the stress that once consumed me.
When I returned to work, I discovered that my boss had left the organisation. That alone felt like a sign.
I still had to face the colleague I had struggled with, but this time, something was different — my energy had changed. The things that once disturbed me no longer did.
During those six months, I had built courage, confidence, and a much stronger sense of self.
When I returned, I was no longer the same person. I was calmer, more positive, and more confident. Challenges no longer felt as overwhelming.
This experience taught me something I truly believe:
If we want our external world to change, we first need to work on our inner world.
That’s exactly what I did — and for me, this was proof that the universe works in mysterious ways. 😊
